SUBJECT: SELECTION OF A CHAIRPERSON AND VICE - CHAIRPERSON
SUMMARY
California Health and Safety Code section 34179 requires the Oversight Board to
designate a Chairperson. In keeping with standard procedures, it would also be prudent
to select a Vice - Chairperson who is authorized to act in the absence of the Chairperson.
Furthermore, the Oversight Committee is required to appoint a Successor Agency staff
person as the Public Official point of contact for the Department of Finance. The
Successor Agency wishes to designate the Assistant City Manager as the point of
contact for the Department of Finance.
Staff Recommendation:
That the Oversight Board approve Resolution 2012 -0001 designating a Chairperson
and Vice - Chairperson and Public Official for Department of Finance contact purposes;
and transmitting the names of the Oversight Board Members and its Chairperson and
Vice - Chairperson to the Department of Finance.

A RESOLUTION OF THE OVERSIGHT BOARD FOR THE SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE
ROSEMEAD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION DESIGNATING A
CHAIRPERSON, VICE - CHAIRPERSON AND PUBLIC OFFICIAL FOR DEPARTMENT OF
FINANCE CONTACT PURPORSES AS REQURIED BY HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE
SECTION 34179
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code section 34179 requires that each Successor
Agency have an Oversight Board; and
WHEREAS, Section 34179 further requires that the members of the Oversight Board elect one
of their members as the chairperson. In the event that the Chairperson is not available to attend a
meeting or perform an obligation required of the Chairperson, it is prudent to also elect a Vice -
Chairperson who is authorized to act in the absence of the Chairperson; and
WHEREAS, Section 34179 also requires that an Oversight Board transmit the names of its
Chairperson and members to the Department of Finance. The names of the Oversight Board are:
Jeff Allred, Representative of City of Rosemead
Martin Jones, Representative of City of Rosemead Employees
Raul Alvarez, Representative of the County of Los Angeles
Patricia Wallach, Representative of the County of Los Angeles Fire Protection District
Irene Redondo - Churchward, Public Appointee Representative of the County of Los Angeles
Nicole Lash, Representative of the County of Los Angeles Superintendent of Schools
WHEREAS, Section 34179 also requires the Oversight Board to designate an official whom
the Department of Finance may contact concerning Oversight Board action.
NOW THEREFORE, THE OVERSIGHT BOARD FOR THE SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO
ROSEMEAD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION HEREBY RESOLVES:

Assistant City Manager.
