TRIPEPI,CITY MANAGER DATE: NOVEMBER 2, 1999 RE: EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION POLICY In the past the City had an unwritten policy of recognizing years of service at the annual City Christmas and Employee Recognition Banquet Due to budget constraints at that time,December 1990 was the last event In place of the banquet,the City has held a catered luncheon in the City Hall conference room during the holidays. This event continues to receive favorable comments from the employees. After reviewing our records in regards to past practice, staff is making the following recommendation: 10 Years City Plaque 15 Years Clock Radio 20 Years Watch 25 Years 3-Day Cruise for two w\$200 for expenses In the past,the City Council has approved a 3-day cruise for two,with expenses,for several employees who reached their 25th anniversary. If the Council approves this policy,it will be included as a line item in future budgets. The eligible employees will be recognized at the annual holiday luncheon.
