TRIPEPI, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Z- DATE: OCTOBER 7, 1998 RE: COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND AGENCY FOR PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM UPDATE Attached for the Redevelopment Agency's review is a cooperative agreement between the Agency and the City for the subject project. The Pavement Management System Update has been budgeted by the Agency. In an effort to reduce costs, this update will be combined together with the City's Pavement Management System Update. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the Redevelopment Agency approve the attached agreement. Attachment FGT:kjr 1998 Rsmd/staff rpurra AGENCY AGENDA OCT 13 1998 ITEM No. • AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE ROSEMEAD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD FOR THE FY 1998/99 PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM UPDATE THIS AGREEMENT is entered into this 13th day of October, 1998, by and between the CITY OF ROSEMEAD (hereinafter"CITY") and the ROSEMEAD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (hereinafter "AGENCY"). WHEREAS, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq., the City Council of the City of Rosemead established the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency under authority of the California Community Redevelopment Law; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq., the City Council of the City of Rosemead, by enactment of Ordinance No. 340, on June 27, 1972, has established the Rosemead Redevelopment Project Area No. 1; and WHEREAS, CITY and AGENCY have a common interest in and wish to facilitate redevelopment within the City and to provide for the cooperation of CITY and AGENCY in carrying out redevelopment activities; and WHEREAS, CITY and AGENCY both desire to perform the pavement management system update described herein. NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree: Section 1. Each party shall have access to the services and facilities of the other party and its staff. Each party shall also cooperate with the other in providing for redevelopment activities within CITY. Section 2. CITY shall supply to AGENCY such information and reports as from time to time the AGENCY may require. Section 3. CITY will assist AGENCY in the planning, financing, acquisition, construction and maintenance or operation of redevelopment activities undertaken by the AGENCY within CITY in accordance with applicable state and federal law. Section 4. CITY and AGENCY shall jointly undertake the planning, analysis, and report preparation for the pavement management system update. CITY shall be "Lead Agency", as defined in Public Resources Code Section 21067. Section 5. AGENCY shall pay the cost of the pavement management system update benefiting Project Area No. 1. The total AGENCY obligation for the update shall not exceed Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000). The CITY shall pay the cost of the 1 pavement management system update for locations within the City of Rosemead but outside of Project Area No. 1 and not benefiting Project Area No. 1. The total CITY obligation for the project shall not exceed Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000). IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement on the date first written above.
