RE: REQUEST FROM ROSEMEAD YOUTH ASSOCIATION (RYA) TO INSTALL A
BANNER OVER VALLEY BOULEVARD NEAR WALNUT GROVE AVENUE
Attached for the Council's review is a letter from the President of the Rosemead Youth Association
(RYA)requesting permission to hang a 30' x 4' banner over Valley Boulevard,just west of Walnut
Grove Avenue, to promote the upcoming baseball/softball season. The banner would read as
follows:
ROSEMEAD YOUTH ASSOCIATION
BOYS BASEBALL/GIRLS SOFTBALL SIGN UPS
DECEMBER THRU FEBRUARY SATURDAYS ONLY!
AT ROSEMEAD PARK CALL FOR INFO (626) 588-4994
Staff has informed the RYA of the necessary insurance requirements and is awaiting the appropriate
certificate of coverage.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to approve the request from the
RYA to place the banner over Valley Boulevard contingent upon receiving the appropriate
documentation regarding installation and insurance coverage.

Rosemead Youth Association is requesting permission to
hang up a Banner at the corner of Walnut Grove / "Valley-to pro-
mote our upcoming baseball/softball season.
We feel that by advertising within our city we will be
able to generate more parents- and children to become involved
with our organization and community .0ur goal is to teach them
the fundamentals of baseball/softball , and intern we are
keeping kids away from drugs and off the street.
We have invested in purchasing a 4ft-X 30ft banner from
SMITTY SIGNWORKS of El Monte which will read :
ROSEMEAD YOUTH ASSOCIATION
BOYS BASEBALL/GIRLS SOFTBALL SIGN UPS
DECEMBER THRU FEBRUARY SATURDAYS ONLY!
AT ROSEMEAD PARK CALL FOR INFO ( 626) 588-4994
Creative Signs and Design is- the companywhowill be installing
and removing the banner. They are insured for one million dollars.
