SEEK BIDS FOR ASPHALT CONCRETE OVERLAY AND STREET
LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS - FISCAL YEAR 1996-97
The subject project includes an asphalt-rubber overlay on various streets throughout the
Rosemead Redevelopment Agency, as shown in Exhibit "A". In addition, the project
includes street lighting improvements on various streets, as listed in Exhibit "B". The new
street lights will be maintained by Southern California Edison, upon completion of the
improvements.
The project has been approved by the State for the State-Local Transportation Partnership
Program (SLTPP) funds, Cycle-7. The SLTPP will provide matching funds of up to 50%
of project construction cost. In order for the Agency to obtain the state share from the
SLTPP funds, the state requires that Cycle-7 projects must be awarded for construction
prior to June 30, 1997.
The proposed schedule for construction is as follows:
Receive Bids April 23,1997
Award contract May 13, 1997
Begin Work June 2, 1997
Complete Work July 14, 1997
The specifications have been reviewed and are acceptable to the City Engineer. The
Engineer's estimate for construction is $344,500.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Rosemead Redevelopment Agency approve the plans and
specifications and authorize advertisement for bids by the Agency Secretary.
