SUBJECT: NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES 2018 BOARD & LEADERSHIP
MEETING—JUNE 25TH—27TH— LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SUMMARY
The City Council will consider authorizing the attendance of any Council Member who wishes to
attend the National League of Cities 2018 Board & Leadership Meeting in Little Rock, on June
25th—27th
If majority of the City Council wishes to attend the Conference and will not be present for the
regular City Council Meeting scheduled on June 26th, 2018, then the June 26th, 2018 meeting will
be cancelled due to a lack of quorum.
Staff Recommendation
1. Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the attendance, at City expense, of any
Council Member that wishes to attend the National League of Cities 2018 Board &
Leadership Meeting in Little Rock, on June 25th—27th
2. If the majority of the City Council attends the conference, the June 26th, 2018 City Council
meeting to be cancelled due to a lack of quorum.
ANALYSIS
11 The Expense and Use of Public Resources Policy, adopted by City Council Resolution No. 2005-
47,requires prior City Council approval for out-of-state travel beyond an adjacent state. Funding
for this purpose is contained in the City's annual budget.
