SUMMARY
The City Council will consider authorizing the attendance of the Mayor who wishes to attend the
United States Conference of Mayors 87th Annual Meeting in Honolulu, HI on June 28 —July 1,
2019.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
1. Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the attendance, at City expense for
registration only, of the Mayor to attend the United States Conference of Mayors 87th Annual
Meeting in Honolulu, HI on June 28—July 1, 2019.
ANALYSIS
The Expense and Use of Public Resources Policy, adopted by City Council Resolution No. 2005-
47, requires prior City Council approval for out-of-state travel beyond an adjacent state. Funding
for this purpose is contained in the City's annual budget. The Mayor will be in Honolulu, HI for
a personal matter at the same time the conference is taking place, therefore only requiring the
cost of registration.
