At our July 92019City Council meeting, the Council voted to appoint me as the Delegate to
the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (COG) starting April 1, 2020. I want to thank you
and my fellow colleagues on the Council for your support.
Since that appointment, I was notified by the Southern California Association of Governments
(SCAG) that I will be representing the city, along with the Cities of El Monte and South El Monte,
on the Regional Council. This added and important responsibility requires me to dedicate much
time and resources to represent our three cities well. As such, I am asking that the Council,
to start on April 1, 2020.
Though decision rests with you and the Council, I would like to recommend that Council
Member Clark retain the COG delegate position. Given the precarious nature and fluid situation
of the state of world affairs, I believe an experienced voice who understands the COG may
position Rosemead best in the coming days.
I want to thank you again for the trust you and the Council placed in me. I look forward to
representing us well on SCAG and working with you all to further the progress of our City.
