AGENDA ITEM 5.0 Attachment A Press Release Issued May 7, 2020 CITY OF ROSEMEAD PRESS RELEASE Contact Person: Gloria Molleda, City Manager FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GMolledaP_cityofrosemead.org May 7, 2020 (626) 328-3026 City of Rosemead's Response to Temporary Closures Related to COVID-19 ROSEMEAD, CA — In response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and following the most recent Los Angeles County Department of Public and Health order, and the Mayor's Safer at Home directives, beginning on May 8, select non-essential businesses may open with a curbside pick-up that follows physical distancing and infection control guidelines. These include bookstores, clothing stores, sporting goods stores, music stores, toy stores, and car dealership showrooms that practice the same guidelines. In addition, outdoor parks and recreation facilities will be permitted to open as long as everyone adheres to physical distancing and infection control guidelines. These include golf courses (not including pro -shops or dine -in restaurants), trails, trailheads, and parks. Please note: Parks' playgrounds, picnic shelters, basketball courts, and tennis courts will not be open and access is prohibited. Everyone attending City parks must practice social distancing and wear face coverings. While we are making good progress, it is important to remember that the COVID-19 pandemic is still active. Residents, business owners, and employees must observe physical distancing requirements and prevention techniques.
