SUBJECT: 2021 FALL SPECIAL EVENTS
SUMMARY
This item is to provide the Parks Commission with a list of special events that are scheduled for
this Fall.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks Commission receive the provided information.
DISCUSSION
The Parks and Recreation Department are planning to host in-person events starting this fall with
the return of the Fall Fiesta/Dias De Los Muertos and Trunk or Treat events. The City is closely
monitoring updates regarding the novel coronavirus and following guidelines set by the CDC
and L.A. County Department of Public Health. If necessary, these events may be affected,
changed, or rescheduled pending public health recommendations.
Fall Fiesta/Dias De Los Muertos - The event will be held on Saturday, October 9th, from 4:00
p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Rosemead Park. If rained out, the reschedule date is Saturday, November
13, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The day will be filled with family fun, including live
entertainment, community performances, carnival games, laser tag, moon bouncers, arts and
crafts, and an outdoor movie. Food and merchandise vendors will be available.
Pumpkin Dive — This new event will be held on Saturday, October 16 at the Rosemead Aquatic
Center. The pool will transform into a floating pumpkin patch where participants will have a
chance to pick the perfect pumpkin and decorate it. The event is for children ages 3 — 16 years
of age. Children 7 and under must be accompanied in the water by an adult 18 years of older.
The event will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 pm with a fee of $10.

Trunk or Treat — The Department will be hosting its annual Trunk or Treat Event on Saturday,
October 30th, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Children will be able to pick out goodies from the
trunks of decorated cars, partake in a costume contest, watch an outdoor movie, play carnival
games, and enjoy arts and crafts. Food trucks will be available, serving treats and food for
purchase.
