SUBJECT: 2021 UPDATED FALL SPECIAL EVENTS
SUMMARY
This item is to provide the Parks Commission with an updated list of special events that are
scheduled for this Fall.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks Commission receive the updated information.
DISCUSSION
The Parks and Recreation Department is excited to once again host in-person events this fall with
the return of the Fall Fiesta/Dias De Los Muertos and Trunk or Treat events. The Department is
also introducing two new events, the Pumpkin Dive and Pumpkin Patch events. The City is
closely monitoring updates regarding the novel coronavirus and following guidelines set by the
CDC and L.A. County Department of Public Health. If necessary, these events may be affected,
changed, or rescheduled pending public health recommendations.
Fall Fiesta/Dias De Los Muertos - The event will be held on Saturday, October 9, from 4:00
p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Rosemead Park. The event will be filled with family fun, including live
entertainment, community performances, carnival games, laser tag, moon bouncers, and arts and
crafts. There will be food and merchandise vendors available as well. If rained out, the
reschedule date is Saturday, November 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Pumpkin Dive — This new event will be held on Saturday, October 16 at the Rosemead Aquatic
Center. The pool will transform into a floating pumpkin patch where participants will have a
chance to pick the perfect pumpkin and decorate it. The event is for children ages 3 — 16 years
of age. Children 7 and under must be accompanied in the water by an adult 18 years of older.
The event will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 pm with a fee of $10.
