JULY 13, 2022
The special meeting of the Rosemead City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Dang
at 6:07 p.m., in the Rosemead City Hall Conference Room located at 8838 E. Valley Boulevard,
Rosemead, CA 91770.
PRESENT: Mayor Low, Mayor Pro Tem Dang, Council Members Armenia, Clark, and Tang
ABSENT: None

2. MATTERS FROM MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
A. Interviews and Appointments to the Beautification Commission, Parks
Commission, Planning Commission and Traffic Commission
Recommendation: That the City Council take the following actions:
1. Conduct interviews and consider appointments to the Beautification
Commission, Parks Commission, Planning Commission and Traffic
Commission to serve a two-year term beginning July 1, 2022, ending
June 30, 2024.
2. Conduct interviews and consider an appointment to the Parks Commission to
serve a partial term beginning July 1, 2022, ending June 30, 2023.
The City Council interviewed the following candidates for a City Commission:
• Lana Ung — Planning Commission
• Ida Moe — Beautification, Parks, Planning, Traffic & Public Safety
Commissions
• 'Patrick Paik — Beautification, Parks, Planning, Traffic & Public Safety
Commissions
• Emma Escobar — Traffic Commissions
• Can Liu — Beautification Commission
• Michael Ossen — Beautification Commission
• Judy Ta — Beautification Commission
• Stephanie Garcia — Beautification, Parks & Public Safety Commissions
• Sarah Flores — Beautification & Parks Commissions
• Jesus Hermosillo — Parks Commission
• Graciela Espinoza — Parks Commission

Mayor Pro Tem Dang reiterated that each City Commission had two open seats and
one unexpired term in the Parks Commission.
Council Member Clark suggested that the City Council appoint the reapplying
applicants to their respective City Commission.
Mayor Low reiterated that appointments should be made after the City Council
conducts the Public Safety Commission interviews since some applicants applied
to multiple Commissions and were still going to interview on the second date.
Mayor Pro Tem Dang, Council Member Armenta, and Council Member Tang
agreed with Mayor Low to make appointments after the Public Safety Commission
interviews concluded.
Council Member Clark motioned to reappoint the Commission incumbents to their
respective Commission.
Mayor Pro Tem Dang noted that there being no second on Council Member Clark's
motion, the motion died on the floor.
Mayor Pro Tem Dang reiterated that appointments to all City Commissions would
be made after the Public Safety Commission interviews.
3. ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Pro Tem Dang adjourned the special meeting at 8:45 p.m. The next regular
City Council meeting was scheduled to take place on July 26, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.,
in the Rosemead City Hall Council Chamber.
