JULY 21, 2022
The special meeting of the Rosemead City Council was called to order by Mayor Low
at 6:05 p.m., in the Rosemead City Hall Conference Room located at 8838 E. Valley Boulevard,
Rosemead, CA 91770.
PRESENT: Mayor Low, Mayor Pro Tem Dang, Council Members Armenta, Clark, and Tang
ABSENT: None
STAFF PRESENT: Deputy City Clerk Haworth
1. PUBLIC COMMENT
No comments were received.
2. MATTERS FROM MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
A. Interviews and Appointments to the Public Safety Commission; Appointments to
the Beautification Commission; Parks Commission, Planning Commission and
Traffic Commission
Recommendation: That the City Council take the following actions:
1. Conduct interviews and a 3tlSider appointments to the Public Safety
Comrniion for two positions to serve a two-year term beginning
July 1, 2022;.ending Jame 30, 2024; and for three positions to the Public Safety
Commission to serve a term beginning July 1, 2022, ending June 30, 2023.
2. Consider. appointments (based off interviews conducted 7/13/22) to the
Beautification Commission, Parks Commission, Planning Commission and
Traffic Commission for two positions to serve a two-year term beginning
July 1, 2022, ending June 30, 2024.
3. Consider an appointment (based off interviews conducted 7/13/22) to the
Parks' Commission for one position to serve a partial term beginning
July 1, 2022, ending June 30, 2023.
The City Council interviewed the following candidates for the Public Safety Commission
and made appointments to each respective City Commission that had previously
interviewed on July 13, 2022.

ACTION: Moved by Council Member Tang and seconded by Council Member Clark
to re -appoint Can Liu and appoint Sarah Flores to the Beautification Commission for a
two-year term beginning July 1 2022, ending June 30, 2024. The motion was carried out
by the following roll call vote AYES: Armenta, Clark, Dang, Tang, and Low.
ACTION: Moved by Council Member Tang and seconded by Council Member Clark
to appoint Jennifer Mendez and Paul Dang to the Parks Commission, for a two-year term
beginning July 1, 2022, ending June 30, 2024; and appoint Charlie Chavez to fill a partial
term ending June 30, 2023. The motion was carried out -by the following roll call vote
AYES: Armenta, Clark, Dang, Tang, and Low.
ACTION: Moved by Council Member Tang and seconded by Council Member Clark
to re -appoint Lana Ung and appoint Emma Escobar to the Planning Commission, for a
two-year term beginning July 1, 2022, ending June 30, 2024. The motion was carried out
by the following roll call vote AYES: ArmeClark, Dang, Tang, and Low.
ACTION: Moved by Council Meftbe. Tang and seconded by Council Member Clark
to appoint Amy Wu (Business Member} and Liz Fonseca (Resident) to the Public Safety
Commission, for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2022,, ending June 30, 2024; and
