TO: THE HONORABLE CHAIR AND PARKS COMMISSION FROM: TOM BOECKING, DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION
DATE: JUNE 6, 2023 SUBJECT: ROSEMEAD PARK AMENITIES
SUMMARY At the direction of the City Council, the Parks Commission will discuss and review amenities at each facility and park in the City of Rosemead. The Parks Commission will review a different facility or park at each meeting. Commissioners will provide feedback to staff as to current and possible future amenities. The Parks Commission will discuss Rosemead Park, which includes
the Play-School facility, Skate Park, and the Rosemead Aquatic Center DISCUSSION Rosemead Park is located at 4343 Encinita Ave and is roughly 2.5 acres of land. The park provides the following amenities for the residents of Rosemead. Amenity Description
Basketball Courts The courts are in fair condition and will be
resurfaced next fiscal year.
Baseball/Softball Fields There are two fields that are used by the
Rosemead Pony League and are available for
rental.
Fitness Equipment There are several outdoor fitness equipment
stations around the walking trail that are enjoyed by residents of all ages.
Multipurpose Field The large field is located in the outfield of the
large diamond and is home to AYSO Region 40 and other various groups who rent the field. Parking Lot There are two parking lots, one on Encinita Avenue and the other on Mission Drive.
Picnic Shelters There are three shelters that are available for rental, as well as several tables and picnic locations throughout the park.

Playgrounds There are three playground structures in the park.
Play-School Facility The play-school building is located at the north end of the park which houses one of our
play-school programs. Full-time and part-time
staff are also stationed at this facility. The afterschool drop-in program also operates out of this facility. Restrooms There are two sets of restrooms.
Rosemead Aquatic Center This center is used for aquatic programming
which consists of lessons, recreational swim, water aerobics, lap swim, and houses the Rosemead Rapids Swim Team.
Walking Trail There is a half a mile walking trail.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks Commission discuss the information provided and give
feedback. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact with this item.
