The suspect was a highly dangerous individual with criminal ties with the Mexican Mafia. The suspect was located hiding in a hotel room registered under a different name. OPERATIONS 06-24-2024 RD Rosemead SAO deputies, with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department Homeless Outreach Team (HOST), L.A CADA recently invited local news media to a homeless outreach operation in the city of Rosemead. During the operation, many homeless residents throughout the city of Rosemead were contacted and offered services. 06-26-2024 / RD oF�6 On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, between the hours of 1300-220o hours, the Temple Station - Rosemead Special Assignment Team and the Los Angeles County Probation Office in conjunction with Major Crimes Bureau conducted an organized retail theft suppression operation at "Target' in the city of Rosemead. The operation focused on identifying, detaining and arresting person(s) stealing and or co- conspirators at "Target'. Nine individuals were identified and arrested for theft, illicit drugs, or violation of probation conditions. All arrestees were either cited out in the field or booked at the Temple Station jail. The operation yielded the following nine arrests: Suspect #1 was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting 459.5(a) PC. Target recovered $307.95 worth of stolen merchandise. Suspect #2 & suspect #3 were arrested for felony organized retail theft 490.4(a)(2) PC. ULTA recovered $8.49 of stolen merchandise. Suspect #4 was arrested for felony $50,000 warrant for receiving stolen property 496(a) PC. Suspect #5 was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting 459.5(a) PC and possession of drug paraphernalia, 11364(a) HS. Target recovered $69.83 worth of stolen merchandise. Suspect #6 was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting 459.5(a) PC. Target recovered $71.92 worth of stolen merchandise. Suspect #7 was arrested for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance 11377(a) HS. Suspect was held for probation violations per 3455 PC. Suspect #8 was arrested for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance 11377(a) HS. Suspect #9 was arrested for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, 11377(a) HS. The suspect was held for probation violations per 3455 PC. During the operation, a SAO Deputy was contacted by an ULTA employee regarding a theft. The SAO Deputy broadcasted the information of the suspects via handheld radio. MCB units located the suspects and guided patrol units to the suspects. Patrol units detained, identified and arrested S/2, S/3 and S4. DAILY OPERATIONS SAO team members adjust schedules to work daytime and evening operations based on crime trends. SAO team members review crime reports (SH -R-49) to identify the latest crime trends for the city of Rosemead. SAO team members assisted code enforcement with aiding homeless individuals throughout the city by offering information on shelter services and other outreach programs. SAO team members continuously moved the decoy police vehicle throughout the city of Rosemead. The decoy police vehicle has been strategically placed at various business locations throughout the city to help deter crime. The decoy police vehicle continues to help prevent overnight commercial burglaries. The vehicle has been strategically placed in areas where crime trends are occurring. (Due to recent burglaries in the area of 8450 Valley Boulevard, the decoy was deployed) MOTOR o6-20-2024 — o6-26-2024 / RD oriw-oF�6 42 cites issued. o warnings issued. @Y. 06-20-2024 /RD O.r,R4 Chief Tiwari along with SAO team members and Rosemead Code Enforcement hosted a community area watch meeting with residents residing in RD 0534 at the Garvey Community Center (91o8 Garvey Avenue). During the meeting, residents were updated on crime trends, the team's effort as a whole with Code Enforcement on tackling homelessness in the area and pushing forth for the community to continue its involvement in preventing crime. Residents were urged to voice their concerns. Residents were informed on available resources throughout the city and county. Residents were also urged to contact SAO team members in lieu of patrol on crime related incidents, and such incidents would be handled on a case -to -case basis. Throughout the evening, more residents arrived and attended the area watch meeting and were urged to continuously reach out to SAO team members, members of the city and Temple Station for any concerns or assistance needed. Residents were given handouts containing resource links, information on crime prevention tips, and resources necessary to combat related situations.
