SUBJECT: APPLICANT REQUEST FOR EXTENDED USE OF GARVEY CENTER
SUMMARY
An applicant has requested the use of Garvey Center for a private function until
midnight on May 31.
The rules and regulations for facility use indicate that all activities must cease by 11:00
p.m. and amplified music or sound that can be heard by the general public must cease
by 10:00 p.m.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the extended use until midnight with all
music to cease by 11:00 p.m.
ANALYSIS
The City has adopted rules and regulations that do not permit facility use beyond 11:00
p.m. However, this is a one-time request made by the applicant in celebration of a 601h
Birthday Party. Music will cease by 11:00 p.m. and should not, therefore, create a
problem.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The additional hour of use would be paid for by the applicant and, thus, no additional
costs will be incurred by the City.
