SUBJECT: CITY FACILITY USE UNTIL MIDNIGHT
SUMMARY
Applicants have requested the use of the Garvey Center for private functions until
midnight on June 28 and July 11, 2008.
The rules and regulations governing facility use indicate that all activities must cease by
11:00 p.m. and amplified music or sound that can be heard by the general public must
cease by 10:00 p.m.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the extended use until midnight with all
music ceased by 11:00 p.m.
ANALYSIS
Current rules and regulations governing facility rental do not permit use beyond 11:00
p.m. However, these are single use requests made by the applicant for a class reunion
and a birthday party. Music will cease by 11:00 p.m. There should be no resulting
problems.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The additional hour for each event will be paid for by the applicant and as a result there
is no added cost to the City.
